FOKUS TECHNO – An SD card (Secure Digital card) is a type of removable flash memory card used to store and transfer digital information. SD cards are commonly used in a wide range of devices, including cameras, smartphones, tablets, and portable game consoles.
SD cards come in various sizes, including standard, mini, and micro, and have varying storage capacities, ranging from a few gigabytes to several terabytes. They also come in different speed classes, which determine how quickly data can be read from or written to the card.
The main advantage of SD cards is their portability and convenience, allowing users to easily transfer files between different devices or backup important data. They are also relatively inexpensive and widely available, making them a popular choice for consumers and professionals alike.
If your SD card has become corrupted after an Android update, there are several steps you can take to try to fix it:
Restart your device
Sometimes a simple restart can fix the issue. Try restarting your device and see if the SD card works again.
Check for physical damage
Inspect the SD card for any physical damage or signs of wear and tear. If there is physical damage, the card may be beyond repair.
Reinsert the SD card
emove the SD card from your device and reinsert it to make sure it is properly seated in the card slot.
Try a different device
If the SD card still doesn’t work, try using it in a different device to see if the problem is with the card or your device.
Use a data recovery tool
If you have important data on the SD card that you need to recover, you can use a data recovery tool like EaseUS Data Recovery to recover lost or deleted data from the card.
Format the SD card
If none of the above steps work, you can try formatting the SD card. However, this will erase all data on the card, so make sure to back up your data before formatting.
To format the SD card, go to Settings > Storage > SD card > Format SD card. This will erase all data on the card and reformat it to work with your device.
Note: If none of the above steps work, the SD card may be beyond repair and you may need to replace it.
If you have tried all the above steps and the SD card is still not working, there are a few additional things you can try:
Use disk utility tool
You can try using a disk utility tool to repair the SD card. For example, on a Windows PC, you can use the built-in Disk Check tool or third-party tools like EaseUS Partition Master or MiniTool Partition Wizard.
On a Mac, you can use the built-in Disk Utility tool to repair the SD card. Connect the SD card to your Mac, open Disk Utility, select the SD card, and then click on the First Aid button to repair any errors.
Use Command Prompt on Windows
You can also try using Command Prompt on Windows to repair the SD card. Connect the SD card to your PC, open Command Prompt as an administrator, and then run the “chkdsk” command followed by the drive letter of your SD card (e.g. chkdsk E: /f). This will scan and repair any errors on the SD card.
Replace the SD card
If none of the above steps work, the SD card may be damaged beyond repair and you may need to replace it with a new one.
It’s important to note that SD cards can be sensitive to physical damage and are not meant to last forever. So, if you frequently experience issues with your SD card, it may be worth investing in a higher-quality SD card or considering alternative methods of storing your data.
